Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church gives its parishioners many opportunities to server the Lord. Below, you will find the ministries described by the people presently in charge of them. We hope that you will be able to join or support one of them.

Top Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Candidates are recommended by the Parish Priest and approved by the Bishop. Once approval is received, Candidates are expected to attend a training class before being assigned duties. Duties include necessary preparations for Communion before Mass, assisting our Priest in the distribution of the Holy Eucharist and the purification of the Consecration and Communion vessels after Mass. Why Legion Work?

Many new residents delay finding their parish, and become increasingly lax or fall away from the Church. During the last few years members of the Legion have found an increased number of Catholics who no longer attend or become indifferent with regular attendance.

Results of the Legion

The gentle knock on the door and a kind word of encouragement bring some back to Christ. Some have come back as regular members, have gone to confession after years away, have been married in the Church, gone through RCIA.

Offer Yourself to Jesus Through Mary

With knowledge that we are all blessed. Give yourself to Him through Mary in the spirit of humility and Faith. God will use you and raise you to the task. A Legion Member is just an ordinary Catholic practicing his Faith in an ordinary way. Leaning on Mary you cannot fail.

  • Attend a weekly meeting
  • Perform Spiritual work together each week

How to Join

The Legion meets each Thursday @ 10:30am. For more information contact Carmel Tighe @ 434-589-4736. There is a sign-up sheet in the Commons for anyone interested in a rosary visitation or consecration of their home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Top Music Ministry

Some of our choir members have moved or are moving in the near future. To belong to the Music Ministry, you can play a musical instrument, such as the piano, organ, guitar, flute, etc and/or sing in the choir. The Music Ministry rehearses every other Tuesday in the Nave at the Church at 7pm, unless otherwise changed by the Music Coordinator. Anyone interested in joining our choir or just to learn the hymns, please contact Sid D'Amico @ 589-6973.

Is Jesus important enough to you to set aside one special hour each week to be with Him? Imagine the Pope wanting you to set aside one specific hour each week to be with him. Overjoyed, you would feel like the most important person in the world. You would let nothing interfere with your meeting with someone so important.

Should you treat Our Blessed Lord with any less dignity?

Because people can't see Jesus, they take His love and Presence in the Blessed Sacrament for granted. People are hesitant in making a commitment for a specific hour because they let everything else come before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament
